A Little Bit Deeper

I find that the following verses from the bible speak so much truth.  I have lived the harm that being consumed with things I need to have has on people and felt the healing and contentment that living with what we have has.

Thank you God for my house and that we have heat and water and blankets and clothes.  I pray for the people that are without these things, that they may be provided with shelter this winter and a job or whatever it may be to help them live more comfortably.  Please help me to recognize the things I just want and don't need and even be aware of this when I am food shopping.  Please help me be a good steward of our money.

God has provided my family with more than adequate living conditions, transportation, a pantry and fridge full of food etc....I want to show Him that I am so thankful and to not abuse my husband's income that he works so extremely hard for.

Hebrews 13:5
Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have.

1 Timothy 6:7-10
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
